Timothy Alouani-Roby editor of Indesignlive & Habitus Living sits down with Greg to discuss The Tailored Interior. The underlying DNA at Greg Natale is not only its signature of layering pattern and colour, but a strong modernist foundation which has lent itself to a multitude of opportunities to explore influences such as post-modernism, Italian rationalism, brutalism, mid-century modern and Milanese maximalism.  Immerse yourself in his collaboration with the Dimora series, the display cubicles showcase his refined design approach and inimitable style.  Sit back and hear Greg share some of his ideas on incorporating different layers in creating a tailored space.

THE EVOLUTION OF AUSTRALIAN AESTHETICS

What distinguishes Australian design aesthetics from those elsewhere? The answer given a century ago would likely have been very different to today’s. This panel will discuss how the idea of Australian aesthetics has changed, and even ask whether there is such a thing as a single Australian aesthetic. Specificity of place, in terms of climate and regional identity, will crossover with connection to Country and Australia’s contemporary identity as a multicultural, urbanised nation to consider what design aesthetics here mean in 2024.

COCKTAIL HOUR AT BAR SODALITE | AGAINST THE GRAIN GIVEAWAY

Maxton Fox and Kaolin Tiles have partnered to develop a truly customised piece of furniture, designed by Jacqueline Hall Senior Associate at PTW. Join us to view this beautifully crafted product all day, and seize the opportunity to win it during the Cocktail hour from 4.00 pm.

Against the Grain” creates a striking fusion of classic shapes and contemporary composition, featuring a mosaic of elegant porcelain tiles set atop a meticulously turned solid walnut timber base. The design draws inspiration from the past, conveying Ray Eames’ playful approach to design and colour. Eames showed us that furniture can be an art form too, with this in mind the design has been developed as a sculpture. Feature the unique porcelain tiles and the natural beauty of walnut. Jacqueline’s vision breathes new life into classic forms, bringing playfulness, bold colours and unexpected juxtapositions to produce a signature timeless table design that stands out from the crowd.
