Roasted Earth

The toasty, glowing amber of soil warmed through by a long autumn afternoon, deepened by the fire of the kiln. It is a colour of comfort and nourishment, of bread and harvest and ground underfoot—honest and grounding, asking nothing and giving warmth. To stand before it is to feel the earth give back what was returned to it.
